Trail, Ranch, & Performance Horse Prospects
Meet the cream of the crop of our ranch-raised horses; the last of the "Stanley colts." Their similar experiences include taking riders on trails with water crossings and swimming in reservoirs, crossing all kinds of natural obstacles like timber, steep inclines and declines, walking along narrow high mountain trails, and spreading out across grassy hillsides, as we avoid nose-to-tail riding except on narrow ridges where it's necessary.
Their foundational training encompasses obstacle/confidence courses (bridges, hanging noodles, water features, seesaw, fans and flags, tarps and crunchy plastic bottles over saddle and underfoot). Most have dragged things, had ropes thrown off them, been introduced to the barrel pattern, rounded up cattle, worked at the auction yard and been ridden with dogs. They transition and rate at the trot and lope, are good with their feet, and easy to catch and trailer load.
They have diverse temperaments and skills, are in different stages of training, and are solid prospects for a rider to progress in a variety of directions. Some adapt easily to different riders; others are recommended for a dedicated intermediate to advanced rider. The pictures and videos taken together reflect their common backgrounds. We invite you to peruse the descriptions, photos, and videos, then contact us for more information.
